Big news out of Redfish Bay Marina: Boat Werx of Texas is now an authorized dealer for Fat Cat Boatworks — and currently their only dealer on the Texas Gulf Coast. New boat sales are coming soon, and we couldn't be more excited about what this partnership means for boating enthusiasts across the Coastal Bend.
WHY FAT CAT?
Fat Cat Boatworks isn't a one-hull-fits-all builder — their lineup spans several different hull designs, each engineered for a specific kind of ride. The Phantom uses a quadrahedral-hybrid hull that runs a tunnel the full length of the boat, giving it a ride that leans closer to a catamaran than a traditional flats boat. The Sniper takes a different approach entirely, transitioning through three distinct hull stages — a catamaran bow with a variable-plane design, a pontoon-cat midsection, and a stepped pad tunnel at the stern — purpose-built around fast, shallow takeoff for tournament anglers. What ties the lineup together isn't a single hull shape, but a shared focus on shallow-water performance and a stable, composed ride in chop, engineered specifically for water like Redfish Bay and the rest of the Coastal Bend.
As Fat Cat's only dealer on the Texas coast right now, Boat Werx of Texas is the place to get a new Fat Cat boat — and every one of them will be custom outfitted right here at our own facility, not shipped in already finished from somewhere else.
The Lineup
Boat Werx of Texas is bringing in two Fat Cat model lines, each offered in two lengths:
Skinny: Fat Cat Phantom 23' and Phantom 25'
The Phantom is built around Fat Cat's quadrahedral-hybrid hull — a design that runs the tunnel prominently the full length of the boat, giving it a ride that leans closer to a catamaran than a traditional flats boat. The difference shows up the moment you're on plane: less pounding, less rail-to-rail rock, and a hull that stays composed crossing chop instead of fighting it. Fat Cat also fully foams the stringers and the pockets surrounding them on every Phantom, which cuts down the hollow slap you feel and hear in a lot of shallow-water boats — the result is a noticeably quieter ride.
The Phantom 25 easily handles six anglers, making it a favorite with working guides who need to run a full charter without crowding the deck. Paired with a Suzuki DF350A and its Contra-Rotating Dual Propeller System, it's capable of running in the high 50s to low 60s mph — a rare number for a hull this capable in skinny water. The Phantom 23 is the smaller sibling in the lineup, built for anglers who need to be first on the flat and last off it, with the same hybrid tunnel design in a tighter package.

Fast: Fat Cat Sniper 23' and Sniper 25'
Nicknamed "The Skinny Cat," the Sniper is Fat Cat's purpose-built tournament platform, engineered around getting shallow and getting there fast. The hull moves through three stages — a catamaran bow with a variable-plane design, a pontoon-cat midsection, and a double-stepped pad tunnel at the stern — with each stage doing its own job: the bow handles chop, the midsection adds lift and stability, and the stepped pad tunnel dramatically reduces dead rise for a hole shot that gets you moving in inches, not feet. The Sniper 25 adds a key-slot transom on top of that stepped tunnel for an even stronger, cleaner takeoff in skinny water.
It's a boat built for anglers who need to cover water fast, get shallow on demand, and stay dry and composed doing it — whether that's a tournament start at first light or the run home across afternoon chop. The Sniper is standard with a Mercury outboard, with a larger Mercury option available for buyers who want more top end.

Here's what sets this apart: Fat Cat delivers a bare hull, and everything from there is done in-house by the Boat Werx team. Engine installation, full electrical systems built from the ground up, cutting-edge marine electronics, trolling motors, anchoring systems, custom aluminum fabrication for T-tops and casting platforms — all of it happens at our Aransas Pass location, boat by boat, to each customer's specification.
That means when a new boat is ready for delivery, it isn't a generic build pulled off a lot. It's been outfitted by people who know these waters, thought every detail through for how it'll actually be used on Redfish Bay and the Coastal Bend, and checked over by the same team that's steps away from the water it'll be splashed in.

This new chapter comes as Boat Werx of Texas has grown to two locations serving Aransas Pass — Redfish Bay Marina and our second location on TX-35. Between the two, we're set up to handle new boat builds, service, and our full consignment program, all under one team.
What's Next
The Phantom 23' and 25' are being built out now, with Fat Cat Demo Days on September 26–27 as the first chance to see them in person. The Sniper 23' and 25' will follow as builds get underway. In the meantime, our consignment program remains open and ready if you're looking to sell your current boat, and our service team is standing by for maintenance and repairs at both locations.
